Project Abundance lays out a vision for World 3.0, where abundant, affordable and reliable energy expands what is possible for AI, industry and society
NEW YORK, September 24, 2026 — Exowatt, a frontier energy company built to power the AI era, today announced the launch of Project Abundance, a new initiative focused on advancing a future in which energy is no longer a fundamental constraint on human progress.
Project Abundance begins with a new master plan from Exowatt CEO and Co-Founder Hannan Happi, which argues that the defining energy challenge is not a lack of energy itself, but humanity’s ability to capture, store and deliver it affordably and reliably.
The plan introduces the concept of World 3.0: a future in which clean, dispatchable and low-cost energy becomes abundant enough to support rapidly growing artificial intelligence infrastructure while unlocking new possibilities across manufacturing, water, agriculture, science and economic development.
“The next era of human progress will require us to stop treating energy scarcity as inevitable,” said Hannan Happi, CEO and Co-Founder of Exowatt. “The energy is already here. The challenge is building the technologies, manufacturing capacity and infrastructure that allow us to capture it, store it and deliver it whenever it is needed. AI is making that challenge impossible to ignore, but AI is only the beginning. If we can make energy abundant, the question becomes much bigger: what else becomes possible?”
From Energy Scarcity to Energy Abundance
Human progress has historically been shaped by access to energy. Project Abundance frames that evolution in three eras.
World 1.0 was powered by combustion, enabling industrialization and modern civilization while remaining dependent on finite fuels and extraction.
World 2.0 introduced widespread electrification and increasingly low-cost renewable energy, but continued to face fundamental constraints around when and where electricity is available.
World 3.0 begins when energy becomes clean, dispatchable, affordable and available where it is needed, allowing energy to become less of a limiting factor on economic and technological development.
Artificial intelligence is accelerating the urgency of that transition. The infrastructure required to train and operate increasingly powerful AI systems is creating unprecedented demand for electricity at the same time that conventional power infrastructure can take years to develop.
Project Abundance argues that this creates a new imperative: build energy infrastructure with the same focus on manufacturing, iteration and scale that has transformed industries including computing, transportation and solar photovoltaics.
“The product this market is buying is not simply electrons. It is time to power,” Happi writes in the Project Abundance master plan.
A Master Plan Built Around Manufacturing
At the center of the Project Abundance thesis is the idea that the cost of energy technologies can be driven down through manufacturing scale and continuous iteration.
The master plan draws lessons from the dramatic decline in the cost of solar photovoltaics and from industries in which standardized, repeatable products have enabled faster learning and lower costs than bespoke infrastructure projects.
For Exowatt, that philosophy is reflected in the development of the Exowatt P3, the company’s modular sunlight-to-power system. P3 is designed to capture solar energy, store it as heat and dispatch electricity when needed using abundant materials and a repeatable manufacturing model.
The Project Abundance plan outlines a path that begins with the urgent energy requirements of AI infrastructure and ultimately extends beyond data centers.
AI serves as the initial scaling market, providing demand capable of accelerating manufacturing and deployment. As production grows and costs decline, the same underlying economics could expand access to energy for applications including industrial production, desalination, agriculture and other energy-intensive activities.
AI infrastructure is the launch market, not the purpose.
Building a Broader Project Around Abundance
Project Abundance is launching as an Exowatt-founded initiative, with plans to grow into a broader platform for organizations and individuals working to expand access to abundant energy.
Over time, Project Abundance will explore opportunities to bring together energy builders, technology companies, manufacturers, researchers, investors and other organizations around shared principles and tangible commitments to expanding the world’s energy capacity.
The initiative will also serve as a platform for ideas, research, conversations and events examining the technologies and systems required to move from energy scarcity toward abundance.
Project Abundance launches during New York Climate Week, where Happi will join Amy Harder, National Energy Correspondent at Axios, for a fireside conversation exploring the relationship between artificial intelligence, energy demand and the broader possibilities created by an abundant energy future.
The conversation, “Powering World 3.0: How Energy Abundance Could Unlock Superhuman Potential,” will take place September 24 in New York City.
